“Time was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on." ———— jonathan safran foer
About nostalgic. Everyone has more or less nostalgic emotions. Walking on the street, seeing the camera of the last century in the showcase, the music player adopts the shape of the phonograph, and the European tram will never be painted as a modern locomotive and Antique shops are always no shortage of customers. For these, it always evokes the warmth of my heart. From a sociological point of view, in the moment when life experiences a major change, people need to use nostalgia to maintain their identity, and the perception of the past can arouse the past self, clearly understand and define themselves, so nostalgia is an indispensable part of self-perception. But for art works, I have been looking for the best way to elaborate nostalgia. Finally, I found that there is nothing better for the audience to watch the revolution of the old staff in the time machine.
Why trains?
The train originated in the first half of the 18th century, and the revolution spanned many centuries. It has witnessed a leap from the steam age to the power age .I think the train is a good choice to express my proposal. My idea is based on an ancient platform. Trains from different eras come to us, from steam to internal combustion engines, to electric locomotives. Then the era of magnetic levitation is coming, from ancient to modern. Finally, the ancient platform has become a modern railway station. It will let the audience watch the history of the train like in a time machine. In addition, I also added interactive elements in it. In the scene I just described, I can let the viewer control the characters in the platform through the keyboard and walk between the shuttle trains. I think this will be more substitutive. And all the model in the unity 3D were built in rhinoceros. The old platform in the first scene was built based on the King's Cross railway station in the UK and it was put into use in 1852, which is in line with my theme. In the implementation of this project, what has been bothering me has been how to combine the old and the modern, and it will not make the audience feel unexpected. In the end, when the trains of every age were taken out of the old railway station, the lens was pulled open and a modern train station was in the eyes of the audience. Although suddenly, it is also reasonable.

Overall.
“Travel through the history” has a certain educational significance. Compared with pictures, such more interactive videos are more acceptable to the audience. It is interesting to watch the trains by controlling the characters in the scene.I don't think we should always live in the past, but some ancient things that do exist in this world. We cannot easily forget them.
